Many women feel unsatisfied with the size, shape, or firmness of their breasts. Breasts that do not meet a woman's own expectations may cause her to feel self-conscious or even embarrassed about her body. Some very large breasts may also present physical problems such as pain and difficulty with circulation and breathing. For women in San Diego and throughout the country who would like to change some aspect of their breasts, Dr. Moneer Jaibaji offers a variety of breast procedures that employ the latest techniques and technology to create natural-looking results with minimal v isible scarring. Please view our before-and-after gallery to see outstanding examples of different breast surgery procedures that Dr. Jaibaji has performed.
Many women consider a full and shapely bust to be a key attribute of feminine beauty. For some women who feel unsatisfied with or embarrassed about the shape, size, or symmetry of their breasts, breast augmentation surgery may enhance their self-confidence by giving them curvier and more striking silhouettes.
Here are some guidelines that help selecting the breast implant size. Patient must consider several factors when deciding which size implant to choose. Dr. Jaibaji, during the consultation, will assist you in making that decision.
The implant size depends on what the patient desire and what the breast can accommodate. In general, the larger the implant, the less natural the look.
The shape of the breast is a combination of implant size and bra type. Tell Dr. Jaibaji what cup size you desire, it would be very helpful if you can bring pictures of models. Also bring pictures of breast shapes that you do not like. The use of rice bags, different size breast implants during the consultation may help but is by no means accurate. During the consultation Dr. Jaibaji will show you before and after pictures that would help you make a decision.
In different women the breast shape will look different even if the same size implant was used. There are certain things to consider that will determine the final shape; these are: original breast volume, breast base diameter, shape of the chest wall, tissue stretch, history of pregnancy, height of the patient.
Each cup is about 150 cc. in other words, if a patient had A cup and wants to be full C, 400- 500 cc implant is required. That does not mean the breast can accommodate that size implant. Dr. Jaibaji will be able to decide that during the consultation. Projection is another thing patients need to consider. The more projection is desired a high profile implant is chosen.
Overfilling the implant; in many occasions the plastic surgeon overfills the implant up to manufactures recommendation. The aim is not only to make the implant firmer, but more importantly, to avoid wrinkling of the implant, also known as rippling. The rippling can be visible and seen in the upper and lateral part of the breast.
Cleavage is the medial distance between the breasts. The cleavage improves after augmentation. However, if the distance between the breasts remains wide, then the bra can adjust the cleavage and improves the shape.
Breast augmentation surgery can increase the size of the breasts or correct asymmetry between them. The procedure may also be able to correct sagging of the breasts that develops through the natural aging process. During the breast augmentation procedure, Dr. Jaibaji creates an incision either beneath the breast, around the areola, or under the arm, depending on what is best for the cosmetic goals of the patient. Dr. Jaibaji makes the discreet placement of incisions one of his top priorities so that patients are left with minimal visible scarring. Next, an implant filled with either sterile saline or viscous silicone gel is inserted either directly under the breast tissue or behind the chest muscle, increasing the size of the breast. After the implant is in place, Dr. Jaibaji closes the incisions with sutures. The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia and completed in a few hours.
Breast augmentation surgery requires a good amount of recovery time. Patients should get plenty of rest and limit movement for the first few days after surgery, and they should expect to experience increased sensitivity, soreness, or swelling in the breasts. These side effects, however, can be treated with medication. Most side effects should disappear within a few weeks after surgery. Many patients are able to return to their normal daily activities within one week, provided that they follow all postoperative instructions given to them by Dr. Jaibaji. The term "mal-position" means out of the correct position. Implant malposition is visibly evident and often uncomfortable for the woman. Fortunately, essentially all of breast implant mal-position can be corrected.
Dr. Jaibaji deals with patients who had problems with their breast implants from previous breast augmentation. Breast implant mal-position is a potential complication after breast augmentation. Â The implants may have been placed incorrectly during the augmentation surgery, or the implants (one or both) may move out of place over time or another type of mistake may have been made during the surgery.
Dr. Jaibaji, repair malpostion of breast implant in an accredited facility under general anesthesia. The anesthesia is administered by a board certified anesthesiologist. The surgery is done as an outpatient procedure. Hospital stay is not necessary for the majority of patients.
The first step in correcting implant malposition is to see Dr. Jaibaji at his office in San Diego. Dr. Jaibaji will examine the patient and determine the appropriate treatment. He will discuss the treatment options and will show you photographs.
You can Dr. Jaibaji at a second consultation if you wish to answer more of your questions and concerns.
There are 4 Types of implant malposition:
Each of these types of mal-positioning:
If the breasts are positioned too high on the body even after settling post-surgery, the mal-positioning may be due to the formation of scar tissue, also known as capsular contracture, which is pushing the implants upward. The nipple tends to move to a lower location. This is not uncommon, and it can be uncomfortable and can certainly look unnatural and the breasts look asymmetric.
To correct the position of implants that have moved in a superior direction, the implants can be taken out and the scar tissue can be released /removed. Breast Implants can then be re inserted, leaving the implants in a natural position.

In that situation, the implants have moved southward, and the nipple and areola are up toward the top of the fullness of the breasts, rather than centered at the front of the breasts. The breast will have a “double bubble appearance. The distance from the nipple to the fold under the breast (the inframammary fold) is also too large.
This type of inferior mal-position can be corrected by moving the inframammary fold to a higher location, using internal sutures. The breasts will no longer be too full at the bottom, and the nipples will face forward.
Dr. Jaibaji repairs Bottoming Out to move the implant back into the pocket of original placement. Dr. Jaibaji will see the patient on the day of surgery and mark the breasts. Following that the surgery is done under general anesthesia. In general, the procedure goes as follows:
"Uni-boob" is a term used to describe a woman's breast implants that have migrated toward the center of her body, in severe cases the implants touch each other over the midline. The cause of uni-bood is the inadvertent cutting of the horizontal muscle that connects to the sternum, during the original implant surgery. This usually due to an overly aggressive surgery aimed at increasing the patient's cleavage, or by using too-large implants on a thin patient. Symmastia can happen whether the implants are placed over or under the chest muscle.
Correcting symmastia involves an additional surgery to repair the defect. Â Using internal sutures on the capsules around the implants to move them outward) to a better position. Special post-operative dressings and a "thong bra" is used to help stabilize the implants after a symmastia reconstruction.
Here, one or both breast implants have moved toward the sides of the body. This can be corrected with internal sutures that decrease the size of the implant pockets, moving the implants toward the body's midline. The breasts will thus be placed naturally in the front of the patient's body.
As women age, their skin begins to lose elasticity, causing their breasts to sag. Significant weight loss, along with pregnancy and nursing, can contribute to sagging of the breasts as well. At Dr. Jaibaji's Coronado practice, sagging (or ptotic) breasts can be corrected with a breast lift, a surgical procedure that creates firmer and more youthful-looking breasts. Breast lift surgery works by trimming away excess skin and tissue and tightening the remaining skin, thus resizing and lifting the breasts symmetrically into a more attractive position that looks natural, shapely, and perky.
During breast lift surgery, Dr. Jaibaji creates incisions along the base of the breast, around the areola, and between the areola and the base of the breast. He then removes most of the skin in the areas below the nipple and relocates the nipple to a higher and more natural-looking position. The skin is pulled taut and sutured in its new position. The result is firmer and more youthful-looking breasts. The breast lift procedure is usually completed in one to three hours. Many women combine a breast lift with augmentation surgery to enhance both the size and shape of the breasts.
The healing process following breast lift surgery may take a significant amount of time. Patients should expect pain, discomfort, bruising, and swelling after surgery, which can be alleviated with pain medication prescribed by Dr. Jaibaji. He will also recommend that patients wear surgical bras and avoid lying on their stomachs for the first few weeks after surgery. The visibility of the incisions will subside, though they will never fully disappear. However, many women find that their new, shapelier busts are well worth the small marks left after surgery. Breasts that are too large and heavy can cause women back, shoulder, and neck pain, breathing and circulation problems, and general discomfort. These problems can keep them from pursuing many physical activities and may also increase feelings of embarrassment or self-consciousness. Fortunately, Dr. Jaibaji offers breast reduction treatment at his practice that can decrease the size of overly large breasts. Breast reduction surgery reduces the amount of skin, fat, and tissue in the breast, producing a more proportionate bust, providing greater freedom, and increasing feelings of self-confidence.
Breast reduction surgery is performed using an anchor-shaped incision made around the areola, along the natural crease under the breast, and vertically in between. After the incision is made, Dr. Jaibaji removes excess fat, tissue, and skin from the lower breast area. Next, the nipple and areola are moved to a higher and more natural position. The remaining skin is tightened and sutured in its new place, resulting in a more proportionately sized and pleasingly shaped breast. The entire process takes a few hours and can be combined with breast lift surgery for better results.
Breast reduction surgery recovery is a long process but well worth it for those who suffer from intense head, neck, and back pain. Some swelling, bruising, and general pain is normal after breast reduction surgery. Dr. Jaibaji can prescribe pain medications to help alleviate any discomfort. Side effects should disappear a few weeks after surgery, and patients are usually able to return to work around the same time. Following all postoperative instructions given by Dr. Jaibaji can help promote a quicker and more successful recovery. For more information on breast reduction surgery, contact our practice today.
Mastectomy surgery, or the surgical removal of the breast, can save the life of a person battling breast cancer. However, one unfortunate but unavoidable consequence is a drastic loss of breast tissue that can leave a woman feeling that she has lost an aspect of her femininity. Fortunately, Dr. Jaibaji can help replace the missing breast through breast reconstruction surgery. A reconstructed breast not only restores the appearance of the bust, but also restores self-confidence and provides a feeling of wellness and recovery.
Breast reconstruction surgery is an extensive operation that is often completed in multiple stages over a period of months. In the breast reconstruction procedure, a balloon expander is inserted into the breast area beneath the skin and chest muscle in order to stretch the area out gently over the course of several weeks. During this time, Dr. Jaibaji will continue to add liquid to the balloon until the skin has stretched enough to accommodate the new breast mass. Once the skin has expanded to the desired size, Dr. Jaibaji inserts either a silicone or saline implant to recreate the breast. He can also use the patient's own skin, fat, and muscle tissue gathered from the abdomen, back, or buttocks to fill in the missing breast in a procedure called flap reconstruction. Flap breast reconstruction results in a new breast that looks and feels all natural. In some cases, flap breast reconstruction can be combined with tummy tuck surgery for a complete makeover. Dr. Jaibaji can also perform nipple reconstruction surgery for those who are interested.
Recovery from breast reconstruction surgery takes approximately six weeks, and patients can expect to experience some pain and discomfort during that time. Patients may regain some feeling in their breasts, though normal sensation can never be fully recovered. Scars will remain visible during most of the healing process, but they will fade over time. Patient who choose breast reconstruction find that the drawbacks of permanent scarring are outweighed by the overall benefits of the procedure.
